IHS Mission statement

IHS is an international centre of excellence associated with the Erasmus University Rotterdam and operating on a global scale that offers specialized post graduate education, training, advisory services and applied research in the fields of urban management, housing and urban environment with the mission to develop human and institutional capacities to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in cities.

 

Capability statement

The Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) is an international centre of excellence associated with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and operating on a global scale that offers specialized post graduate education, training, advisory services and applied research in the fields of urban management, housing and urban environment with the mission to develop human and institutional capacities to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in cities.

IHS has more than 45 years of continuous activities in the field of research, training and post-graduate education for professionals working in areas of housing, urban development, urban infrastructure and urban governance in developing and transitional countries. Additionally it has more than 20 years experience with short and long-term projects in a variety of countries providing advisory services and technical assistance to governments, non-governmental organisations and international funding agencies.
