Having accumulated in-depth knowledge in the field of urban management for more than 50 years, IHS has grown to be a leading knowledge center, providing effective and innovative solutions to urban problems worldwide. Today, as center of excellence in the field of urban management and development, IHS provides high quality educational programmes, specialized post-graduate training, applied research projects, as well as advisory services around the globe.

IHS believes in partnership and joint efforts. Together with our worldwide partner universities and institutes, and especially with over 7,500 IHS alumni from more than 140 nations, we have built a strong global network of urban professionals. We are proud of our alumni and are encouraged by their achievements. Their contribution to the IHS network provides us with fresh concepts and dynamic perspectives to face today’s urban challenges.

With such a firm goal in mind, we will continue with our efforts in developing human and institutional capacities to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life in cities.
