Mellyana Frederika


Mellyana Frederika currently works for UNDP Indonesia, managing a project on governance and decentralization. She worked intensively with the National Planning Agency and the Ministry of Home Affairs together with the Provincial Government of Gorontalo. Prior to that, she was involved in research related with reconstruction and rehabilitation work in Aceh, one of the most devastating area hit by the tsunami back in 2005.

She is an urban planner by education. She received her bachelor from Urban and Regional Planning Department of Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia and her master from the Urban Management Course of IHS and Erasmus University.

Mellyana Frederika has more than 10 years experience in teaching, researching and managing projects on urban related issues. She worked for universities, research centers and international organizations in Bandung and Jakarta. Ofthen she works as an independent consultant for local and international firms located in Jakarta. She was involved in urban and tourism planning projects in Java, Kalimantan, Ambon, Sumatera and Sulawesi.

Her main interests are urban planning, tourism planning, governance and decentralization. Her passion is to work in the development sector that aims to provide a better quality of life. In between her work, she always finds a way to travel, take pictures and read more books. She used to be an avid blogger but now it is one of her new year resolutions to write more.
