2.    Property development & property cycles: a historic context
3.    Case Study: Property Development in Vietnam
4.    The property market: players, concepts and definitions
5.    Market analysis
6.    Site analysis
7.    Site acquisition


Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:
§    Demonstrate an understanding of the property sector in the world and Vietnam;
§    Differentiate between the various steps of the property development process and important factors influencing this process;
§    Distinguish the major players involved in property development sector in Vietnam and around the world and be able to understand their motivations;

Skills:
§    Undertake basic property market research;
§    Identify a site or property suitable for a property development;
§    Complete a development appraisal for a property development;
§    Set up a marketing and management strategy for a property

Attitudes:
§    Appreciation of the role which property development plays as one of the main driving forces in the physical development of a city;
§    Appreciate the relationship between property development and urban planning, design and construction;
§    Advocate partnerships with property developers in order to realize urban development plans.

Target group
Target group will be government officials and real estate agents. The course will be organized 4-8 pm (or similar time) and possibly 1 Saturday and will be spread over 3 weeks. Home assignments will be part of the course.
