IHS 50 year anniversary » Urban Meetings » Anthony Williams

Leading Cities

Urban politics have a major influence on the character of a city and the daily lives of its inhabitants. Anthony Williams, former mayor of Washington, D.C., describes how he managed to turn the negative development perspective of the city around. He improved Washington's financial position and created a positive investment and establishment climate, and also upgraded the city socially, by providing everyone with access to health care and by developing innovative projects.

Additional speakers: Ivo Opstelten (mayor of Rotterdam) and Kees Christiaanse (Curator of the 4th International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam, partner in KCAP and member of the London Design Advisory Board).
Moderator: Felix Rottenberg

date: Tuesday 28 October
