My City

The book 'De lat steeds hoger' (Aiming higher) postulates that Turkish and Moroccan youths identify more with the city in which they live than with the Netherlands as a country. They consider themselved to be Turks, Moroccans, Antilleans and, for instance, Rotterdammers. Han Entzinger (Professor of Migration and Integration Studies) examines the role of the city in determining cultural identity.
