Sustainable Cities

How can cities be developed in a sustainable manner? What can Rotterdam learn from other cities? In the second Urban Meeting Jaime Lerner, architect and former mayor of Curitiba (Brazil), describes the strategy he employed in this city. By linking the social programme and the functional programme of the city to its environmental programme, he managed, during the time he was mayor, to develop Curitiba into one of the world's most progressive cities in the field of sustainability.

Additional speakers: Arjan Dikmans (Rotterdam Climate Initiative) and Floris Alkemade (Office for Metropolitan Architecture).
Moderator: Felix Rottenberg

date: Tuesday 14 October
time: 8:00 pm
