Elina Makousiari is an Urban Sustainability and Resilience planner. Her fields of expertise are sustainable urban planning,  environmental urban management, and strategic and land use planning. With her academic and professional background, she gained insight into managing complex environments with emerging challenges, prioritising human interaction, social well-being, and quality of life. Her research background includes placemaking, temporary urbanism, participatory planning, and stakeholder management in urban planning related procedures. Her passion is to work for a better and more livable urban future.

Elina is an Academic Assistant of the Strategic Urban Planning and Policies Master track team. At IHS, Elina is involved with advisory and research projects related to resilient urban planning, sustainable urban growth and multi-stakeholder engagement, and educational activities within the specialisation’s course.
