Gisela Garrido Veron
Gisela Garrido Veron is a Research Assistant in the Urban Strategies and Planning thematic area at IHS. She is specialized in public policy, regional integration, and innovation. Gisela’s main interests are urban development, higher education policies, gender inclusion and environmental mitigation. At IHS, she participates in advisory and supports the academic activities. Her responsibilities include assisting the educational coordination of the Urban Strategies and Planning master specialization and supporting a project on Sustainable Intermediate Cities in Ecuador.
Gisela has experience in using qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as interviews, surveys, literature reviews and comparative analyses. She enjoys working in an international environment, with different stakeholders and backgrounds and she understands the different needs, perspectives and values of a fruitful partnership.
Gisela holds a double MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from United Nations University (UNU-MERIT) and the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance, and a BA in European Studies from Maastricht University. She is currently pursuing another MSc in Cities and Urbanism at the Open University of Catalonia. In the past, Gisela has managed and coordinated higher education projects, as well as taught research methods at Maastricht University. She has also implemented new policies and organizational changes in a growing multinational in Barcelona.
