WeMakeThe.City - The Festival that Makes Cities Better
Cities play a crucial role in solving the urgent and complex challenges of the 21st century. To release the full potential of cities as catalysts for progressive urban transition, we believe it is necessary to forge meaningful connections between people and organisations, and to get everyone involved to create better cities for all.
The first edition of WeMakeThe.City took place from 20 to 24 June 2018, in Amsterdam, as a spin-off of the European iCapital Innovation Award that Amsterdam won in 2016. The starting point was addressing and demonstrating the importance of collaboration between all urban stakeholders when dealing with urban challenges.
In his keynote, Egbert Fransen will talk about how the WeMakeThe.City festival can form a crucial instrument on addressing the urban challenges and forging new connections in and between cities, specifically in Amsterdam and the Metropolitan Area.
