Imagine the world in 2040

To build a new economy we first must dare to dream. We need to create images of the world we want. That is why the movie creators partnered with the world’s best science-based communication efforts. 2040 –  Join The Regeneration is a unique, uplifting documentary film by Damon Gameau. The documentary featuring Paul Hawken (Project Drawdown) and Kate Raworth (Doughnut Economics) integrates the ideas in Drawdown and Doughnut Economics. The documentary uses existing and proven climate solutions to show what a regenerative future could look like – and positively activates the world into climate action.

About the movie

The documentary takes the form of a letter to Gameau’s four-year-old daughter, Velvet, with a deep concern for the planet she will eventually inherit. After embarking on an ambitious journey, interviewing farmers, pioneers and other experts about actions we can take now to save our planet. Gameau, through what he called “fact-based dreaming,” discovers that there are just as many currently available solutions as there are problems to battle.

"2040 helps the viewer navigate its overwhelming topic using humor, beautiful animation, visual effects and touching interviews with children from around the globe on what they would like to see in the year in which the film is named." - Forbes
