Every year IHS welcomes urban specialists from over 50 nationalities to the city of Rotterdam. The IHS Professional Services Team support new students both before they arrive in The Netherlands and as they settle into their new lives at Rotterdam. IHS can assist students to secure health insurance and a visa to enter the Netherlands if necessary. Our team may also provide advice on local housing options and information on the possibility of on-campus housing if available.
All services are offered to candidates based on their individual needs. Please contact the relevant programme coordinator if unsure which services are available or necessary for your enrollment.
IHS’ preferred insurance provider is AON. The insurance policy will be valid from the time a student arrives in the Netherlands until the day after departure. This insurance is valid worldwide.
IHS chooses the ICS Complete package, this is a comprehensive package. Please note it does not cover pre-existing conditions. Read more about the policy on the AON website.
Individual visa applications are applied for by IHS on a needs-based basis. All students will be advised on the correct visa procedure after IHS has issued a letter of admission. If students are unclear on their specific visa procedure they are advised to contact their programme coordinator. Find the contact information for your programme coordinator at the bottom of this page.
IHS does have a small amount of on-campus accommodation available each year in the Erasmus University F Building, this is awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis. Any students who are not housed on-campus will also be provided with advice and guidance on finding housing in the city of Rotterdam. Read more about these housing options below:
