Every year IHS welcomes urban specialists from over 50 nationalities to the city of Rotterdam. The IHS Professional Services Team supports new students both before they arrive in The Netherlands and settle into their new lives in Rotterdam. IHS can assist students in securing health insurance and a visa to enter the Netherlands if necessary. Our team may also provide advice on local housing options and information on the possibility of available on-campus housing.Â
All services are offered to candidates based on their individual needs. Please contact the relevant programme coordinator if unsure which services are available or necessary for your enrollment.
IHS’ preferred insurance provider is AON. The insurance policy will be valid from when a student arrives in the Netherlands until the day after departure. This insurance is valid worldwide.
IHS chooses the ICS Complete package that is a comprehensive package. Please note it does not cover pre-existing conditions. Read more about the policy on the AON website.
For short courses, the participants should arrange the visa themselves.
For the master's programme and PhD programme, the International Office of Erasmus University Rotterdam applies for a visa from the Netherlands.Â
IHS considers it important that all its students have the best academic experience possible. The IHS Professional Services Team are responsible for ensuring all students have the right level of support. Students with questions about studying with functional impairment, mitigation inquiries, or wider counselling services should contact their programme coordinator to have their inquiries handled privately.
