Campus living: your home on Campus Woudestein

We are delighted that you have chosen IHS, the Institute for Housing and Urban Development of Erasmus University Rotterdam, as your (next) place of study, and we are looking forward to welcoming you to our campus. A major part of your preparations for studying abroad is securing safe and affordable accommodation, preferably near the university.

In the Netherlands, student housing is typically not arranged by the university. Most students need to arrange accommodation themselves on the private market. However, for the 2024/2025 academic year, IHS has secured 80 rooms in the F-building, conveniently located on the Woudestein campus.

The facilities

Priced at an affordable 570 euros per month, these small studio-type rooms feature a private kitchenette and other essential facilities (bed, table and chair), creating a comfortable and private living space for you to focus on your studies and immerse yourself in student life. The rooms are single occupancy only and are about 20 square meters in size. Tenants receive new bedding, sheets, and basic kitchen appliances (pot, pan, cutlery, glass, plates, etc.) when checking in. Shower and sanitary facilities are shared, complemented by cleaning services three times a week. Laundry facilities are available in the building. The building can be accessed only by residents, ensuring its occupants feel safe and comfortable in their living space.

Although the F-building may be described as a little outdated, it provides all the necessities, plus living and studying on the same campus has its perks – you are just meters away from all your classes.

Allocation and registration

The rooms can be booked by confirmed participants joining one of our MSc Urban Management and Development master tracks on a first-come-first-serve basis. This means that the sooner your participation is confirmed, the better your chances of securing one of the rooms. Admitted candidates can confirm their participation in the programme by returning their Admission Acceptance Form (AAF) and submitting their tuition fee*.

*Please note that students who submit their tuition fee by 15 May directly benefit from the Early Bird tuition waiver of €2000.

Other campus perks

Living on campus also means you can conveniently unwind at the sports centre, enjoy the terraces with roommates, or grab a bite at the food court and SPAR supermarket right on campus.

And here's a bonus: if you ever feel like exploring downtown, a quick bike ride or tram journey will have you there in less than fifteen minutes.
