Climate change increasingly threatens human health, particularly among low-income and marginalized communities living in informal or inadequate housing. This cluster addresses the urgent need to understand and act on the links between housing, health, and climate change, particularly in the context of resettlement and urban vulnerability.

The Nexus Housing, Health and Climate Change cluster aims to build a strong foundation of knowledge and action at IHS around the intersection of housing, health, and climate change—referred to as "the nexus." It seeks to strengthen research, education, and advisory work by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and global partnerships, especially with health experts and institutions. Key goals include developing research proposals, securing funding, and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities through participatory methods such as film. The cluster also aims to integrate this theme more deeply into the Urban Housing and Land Justice (UHLJ) track and to revise a previously submitted Welcome Trust proposal. Drawing on emerging evidence and ongoing projects like the Habitat for Humanity assignment, the cluster emphasizes the need for inclusive, climate-sensitive housing policies that support community resilience and wellbeing in low-income urban areas, including resettlement sites.
