The executive programme "Designing Cities for All" is a 9-day course organised by My Liveable City Academy in cooperation with IHS. The course will be held in Bengaluru, India from 9-17 November 2024.
More about the course
This multi-disciplinary programme conducted by experts from various countries will explain how thinking simultaneously on issues of housing & urban planning, landscape, and infrastructure can lead to equitable cities for all.
The course is specially crafted for mid to senior-level professionals from the public and private sectors – government, developers, architects, urban designers, financiers, consultants and academicians who together constitute the symbiotic ecosystem for designing inclusive and climate-resilient cities. The programme offers a mix of world-class scholarship from IHS and global professional expertise from MLC, with both aspects being contextualised to Indian cities. Each day will consist of thematic discussions, lectures, design exercises, end-of-day talks, and fireside chats with industry experts.
The course will cover these broad themes:
- What makes a city inclusive?
- Affordable housing and sustainability
- Public health: healthy cities and healthy citizens
- Planetary health: dealing with climate change
- Landscape & ecology and nature-cultural issues
- Urban governance and mobility
- Culture of cities: public spaces
- Designing large multi-disciplinary projects
