Lucas Snaije is a Research Officer at IHS, working on two projects that link cities, local government networks, and international climate action, in partnership with the UN Environment Programme.
Prior to IHS, Lucas held both research and advocacy positions in several international non-profit organisations, focusing on urban transport decarbonisation, people-centered streets, and more recently, city diplomacy and the urban health imperatives of a just transition away from fossil fuels. He is experienced in engaging with diverse stakeholders, from grassroots civil society groups to city mayors, and multilateral organisations.
He holds an International Development, Urban Systems and Anthropology BA from McGill University, and an Urban Geography MSc from Utrecht University.
