Malek Al Jebaie is an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of industrial decarbonization, innovation diffusion, and technological change. He is the DC12 fellow under the DETOCS project, where IHS is leading a work package on the diffusion of low-carbon cement in the market.

Previously, Malek worked as an environmental specialist and consultant with international and local organisations in Lebanon on climate adaptation projects. His work included establishing a local Green Academy to integrate sustainability into engineering and high school curricula in Lebanon, leading the strategic implementation of green infrastructure experiments funded by the Spanish Cooperation Agency (AECID), and leading  Lebanon Blue Economy Dialogue and Sustainable Consumption and Production local action planning under the EU-funded SwitchMED II program. Earlier in his career, he worked as a GIS analyst for disaster risk management and response in Lebanon.
