Laura Quadros Aniche
Laura Quadros Aniche is an Urban Environment, Sustainability, and Climate Change specialist. Her expertise includes environment and climate change governance, nature-based solutions, ecosystem services, climate resilience, participatory decision making and legitimacy, water management, and urban renewal.
She works on education, teaching, mentoring, and supervising in the Master Programme Urban Management and Development. Laura is part of the Urban Environment, Sustainability, and Climate Change Specialization and Research Workshop.
Laura is also involved in advisory and research projects at IHS. Recently, she is responsible for the development and implementation of a knowledge-to-knowledge project about water governance and sustainable urban renewal in a ‘Partnership in Business’ project in China funded by RVO (The Netherlands Enterprise Agency). She also coordinated and implemented a Refresher Course in Colombia on Peacebuilding in peri-urban areas: nature-based solutions for community resilience, funded by Nuffic. Laura is involved in tailor-made trainings for Chinese local and regional governments in the field of water and sustainability.
Laura is the coordinator of the new IHS book “Urban Management in Emerging Economies. New Paradigms and Practices”.
She is part of the IHS Management Team as an executive assistant, providing support in the development of institutional strategies and policies, and managing internal and external communication.
Laura holds a Masters (cum laude) in Urban Management and Development at IHS, an MBA in Real Estate Business and Civil Construction Management, and a Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Planning.
Before joining IHS, Laura worked for twelve years with project management, urban development projects, civil construction, and real estate business. She worked on large neighbourhood, residential, commercial, corporative, hotel and mixed-use projects, with global vision and management since land acquisition until post-delivery. Her responsibilities included acting in product concept; market intelligence; financial viability, planning and monitoring; legalization and urban aspects; architecture, structure and complementary projects analysis and coordination; legal and business structure; real estate register; marketing and publicity planning; sales approval and supervision; monitoring of customer requests; budget and contracts scope analysis; construction monitoring, and LEED and Triple-A certificates processes.
